Historical Fair in Chakradharpur on Janmashtami, City Filled with Festive Spirit

Today, the entire nation is celebrating the festival of Lord Shri Krishna’s birth, Janmashtami, with great enthusiasm. Devotees are observing fasts, singing devotional songs, and enjoying swings while celebrating the divine occasion of Kanha’s birth. Temples have been beautifully decorated with lights and flowers, while devotees eagerly await the midnight celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth.

On this auspicious occasion, Chakradharpur is also hosting its traditional historic fair, awaited eagerly by people every year. The fairgrounds have been decorated and lively arrangements have been made. To attract the public, various amusement rides have been set up, such as electric swings, the well of death, boats, break dance, tora tora, dragon train, and more. For children, small rides and games have also been specially arranged.

During the fair, a special night-long worship takes place at the Kali Temple of Potarkholi, which draws a large gathering of devotees.

Thus, the holy festival of Janmashtami and Chakradharpur’s historic fair together have created a joyful and vibrant atmosphere across the region.
