Woman Dies After Being Struck by Lightning While Working in Field

A tragic incident occurred in Roladih village near Toklo under Chakradharpur block on Tuesday, where a woman lost her life after being struck by lightning while working in the fields.

The deceased has been identified as Chanchala Mahato (45 years old), wife of Paresh Chandra Mahato. According to reports, she was working in the field along with other women when suddenly a lightning bolt struck. Chanchala sustained severe injuries while the other women present at the spot narrowly escaped unharmed.

Her family members immediately rushed her to Chakradharpur Sub-Divisional Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

The incident has cast a wave of grief across the village and nearby areas. Prayers are being offered for the departed soul and for strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, villagers have urged the government to provide appropriate compensation and assistance to the victim’s family.
