A cloudburst in Dharali village of Uttarkashi at 1.45 pm on Tuesday caused massive destruction. 4 people died in this, while more than 50 people are missing.

The administration says that the death toll may increase. SDRF, NDRF, ITBP and Army teams are engaged in rescue work.
The debris that came flowing from the mountains into the Kheer Ganga river swept away Dharali’s market, houses and hotels. Everything was destroyed in just 34 seconds.
Apart from Dharali, cloudburst has occurred in Harshil and Sukki. There are reports of 8 to 10 army soldiers missing due to cloudburst in Harshil area.
People were seen saving their lives in the video, debris was accumulated up to 30 feet. Many videos of this disaster came out. In these, people were seen running here and there to save their lives. There was screaming all around.
Those who were making videos of this were shouting at people to save themselves despite being at a distance. After the disaster, debris accumulated up to 30 feet in Dharali. Many shops in the market and nearby houses were razed to the ground.
Visuals of the deadly cloudburst have taken social media by a storm in which locals can be seen fleeing to higher ground amid the sudden incident.
