NSUI’s Strong Protest at Kolhan University Against BJP’s Distorted Education Policy and False History

NSUI’s Strong Protest at Kolhan University

Chaibasa, Jharkhand: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) staged a massive protest at the gate of Kolhan University under the leadership of University President Veer Singh Balmuchu. The protest was aimed at opposing the new NCERT partition module titled “Kalplist of the Partition”, which the students claim contains distorted facts about India’s history.

Protest Against Biased Education Policy

During the demonstration, students tore Xerox copies of the partition module to symbolically reject the BJP government’s “false and biased” education policy. According to NSUI, the module promotes a misleading and divisive mindset that manipulates historical facts for political gains.

Active Participation by Students

The protest saw active participation from several student leaders including Reena Honhaga, Amit Honhaga, Santosh Gop, Belmati Hembrom, Ghanshyam Soy, and Mir Marshal Birua, along with a large gathering of university students who stood united against the policy.

Students’ Strong Message

The protesting students declared loudly:
“Tampering with education will not be tolerated, and injustice to history will not be tolerated. While other countries are preparing their children with modern education like AI and coding to move forward, in India, the RSS and central government are trying to mislead the youth through distorted methods.”

Significance of the Protest

The protest reflects the growing anger among students against attempts to alter academic content and historical narratives. NSUI leaders emphasized that education should be a tool of empowerment, not a political weapon.

Conclusion

The NSUI’s agitation at Kolhan University highlights the ongoing debate over India’s education policy and historical representation. The demand from students is clear — to safeguard academic integrity and ensure that history is taught with truth and fairness, free from political interference.
